I love food, especially Chinese food or anything that's sweet and spicy. This recipe gives venison lovers another reason to love this red meat.
Sweet and Spicy Venison
INGREDIENTS:
1.5 lb venison strips or cubes (pounded to ensure the pieces are soft)
salt & pepper to taste
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 medium onion (cubed)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1/2 lb zucchini (cubed)
1/2 cup sweet and sour sauce (such as Mae Ploy brand)
2 tbsp soy sauce
1/4 cup peanuts
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine salt, pepper, and flour. Mix thoroughly.
Bread the venison strips with the flour mixture.
Set the stove on medium heat. Working in batches, shallow fry pieces in hot oil until crisp and golden brown. Repeat until all remaining venison are fried. Set venison aside.
In the same pan, cook onion and garlic until caramelized but not burnt.
Add zucchini and cook until tender but still crunchy.
Add the venison strips, sweet and sour sauce, soy sauce, and peanuts. Mix and cook for about 3 more minutes.
Serve hot over rice.
